RESTAURANTS AND BARS

  • Tasca, a signature Portuguese poolside restaurant, courtesy of celebrity chef José Avillez, is set to be the talk of the town.
Bursting with character and flavour and with products sourced from Portugal, this upmarket dining experience is guaranteed to be a hit with Dubai residents and international travellers alike bringing something truly unique to the Dubai dining landscape. The restaurant will provide guests with a chic and captivating Portuguese dining experience with the largest selection of Portuguese wines in Dubai.
Overlooking the infinity pool, the restaurant’s colour palette incorporates vivid blue, pale sanded wood, polished white, grey marble and painted white bricks, creating a sophisticated feel that reflects the resort’s beach chic vibe. Guests can enjoy live demonstrations at both the bar and open kitchen, with chefs and bartenders working together to create unique culinary and beverage delights.
  • Netsu, a Warayaki-style Japanese steakhouse brings this new concept – the first of its kind in Dubai – to the region. Helmed by Australian-born Ross Shonhan, the restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine in a contemporary setting. With a wood and concrete interior combined with an outdoor terrace dotted with pools of water and featuring an outdoor bar, Netsu’s design is as spectacular as its menu. Showcasing the traditional Japanese cooking technique of Warayaki; originating from Kochi Prefecture in Shikoku, Netsu’s chefs grill food using dry straw instead of charcoal giving it a unique flavour and taste. Meats and seafood are beautifully seared on the outside maintaining a very tender and juicy flesh on the inside. The soaring flames create a spectacle and add a theatrical element to the dining experience.
The menu includes Warayaki-style grills, sushi and sashimi platters as well as other Japanese dishes to be enjoyed as shared plates. The drinks are a signature feature of the restaurant’s experience and guests can expect masterfully crafted cocktails using fresh Japanese ingredients with a nod to classic flavours. The wine list offers over seventy labels and an extensive selection of sake served in unique sake pots. A sake sommelier, who specialises in premium Japanese artisanal sakes, sake cocktails and craft beers, is also on hand.
  • The hotel is also home to The Bay, a brasserie-style ground floor restaurant with show-kitchens and family-friendly menus. The Bay offers international cuisine with a nod to Asian flavours and will have a focus on fresh, organic and healthy food. The vibrant a la carte breakfast menu offers an array of wholesome options to start the day along with freshly baked breads and pastries. The Bay also houses an ice cream parlour featuring unique flavours tailor made to the taste of the region.
  • Located in the lobby, the elegant Noor Lounge offers guests a delightful assortment of teas, coffees and light refreshments. A dazzling canopy of gilded trees surrounds the area, creating a charming yet comfortable setting.
  • Catering for Dubai’s sweet toothed gourmands, The Mandarin Cake Shop offers a unique selection of sweet creations including authentic Arabic sweets, lovingly crafted by a team of passionate pastry chefs. The chocolates and cakes are beautifully decorated and packaged like
pieces of art, they are almost too beautiful to eat.
  • Located in the heart of the resort, Sun Vibe Pool Bar is the perfect location for guests to soak up Dubai’s warm rays. Sunbathers can unwind in comfortable chaise longue chairs and enjoy a line-up of refreshing handcrafted cocktails along with an extensive selection of poolside dishes including healthy bites and classic favourites.

GUESTROOMS AND SUITES

The accommodation at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai has been designed to evoke a sense of refined elegance. Each of the 178 spacious rooms and 78 elegant suites boasts its own breathtaking sea or skyline view and most come with private balconies. No other property in Dubai offers such proximity to the sea from its rooms and suites.
Upon entering the room, guests are greeted with vertical cerused oak panels around the foyer. A decorative finish that involves using different coloured pigments to highlight a wood’s natural grain pattern. Cerused oak leaves the wood with a muted colouring and beautiful contrasting veins. Another focal point in the foyer is an oriental chair in black lacquer with mother of pearl inlay.
Complete with a walk-in wardrobe and a spacious dramatic bathroom, the rooms are truly urban retreats in the heart of the city. All bathrooms feature luxurious floating baths, rain showers, shaving mirrors and towel warmers. Attention to detail has been extended to all aspects and features of the rooms, including the ceilings that are decorated with eclectic zigzag patterns. Inspired by Arabesque patterning the design plays with light and adds warmth. The modern feel extends to Venetian mirrors and a beautiful Balinese chagrin (stingray) finish on the vanities.
The colour scheme is centred around palettes that include one strong colour against a background of linen, cream and velvety beiges. Timber panelling extends into the bathroom allowing the warmth to carry throughout. Bright blues offset by more neutral earthy tones and twinkling golds lend the rooms a distinct ocean feel which instantly evoke a sense of calm constantly bringing the outdoors in.
